Joy Feinberg is a fierce and focused advocate for individuals of wealth who are contemplating, or are in the midst of divorce. Joy began her career in 1977 as a litigator with a concentration on personal injury and domestic relations cases. Joy has lent her professional expertise to mediate and consult for highly reputable organizations and institutions on the many aspects of domestic relations throughout her career. In 1980, she formed a private practice exclusively focused on family law.
For over three decades,Joy Feinberg has honed her knowledge and professional skill-sets to deeply understand tax-driven financial solutions and creative parenting plans, among the many other complicating aspects of divorces for wealthy individuals. If settlement attempts fail, Joy relies on her trial prowess; a signature of her professional acumen. As an expert, and sought-after speaker and writer, Joy utilizes her deep understanding on topics such as taxation, business valuation, pensions, spousal maintenance, and parenting. She is known by her clients and peers as a tenacious, direct and trustworthy attorney and advocate, both in and out of the courtroom.
Joy Feinberg recognizes the struggle individuals can experience prior to beginning the divorce process. She provides a holistic approach to intimately understand her clients’ unique experiences, and guides them with inspired and creative solutions. Joy Feinberg served as President of the USA Chapter of the International Academy of Family Lawyers from 2014- 2016. She is most proud of her Presidency of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation, an organization that supports the needs of adults and children who are experiencing divorce or separation.
When not working, Joy and her husband Gregory live in Chicago and enjoy travel, symphony, opera and time spent with friends and family.
